Rules
#Coding on IrCQNet is a help room for coders/scripters/programmers. For it to run as a help room certain rules must be observed. As well as the chatroom we also have the forum which also has it's own set of rules.
Both rules for the channel and the forum can be found at the forum as well as on this page. Before using our services we expect that you have read these rules. Please note that violations of these rules may lead to bans.
Channel Rules
The channel rules are as follows:
(1) State your question/problem not permission to ask question. This is a help channel, you don't need to say, "I need help" or "Can I get some help?"
(2) Wait patiently for your question to be answered. Don't repeat your question again and again and again and again... and again. We will answer it as soon as we see it.
(3) Do not message the Ops or helpers without their permission. This is a help channel, there is no need for you to message the Ops or helpers when you can ask a question in the main channel and get an answer.
(4) We do not allow the use of excessive control codes (colours/bold/reverse/underline). Don't talk in CAPS. No annoying StIcKy CaPs or Tags.
(5) Absolutely no autos in the channel. No ban protections, no repeating away messages, mp3 spam, auto greets, etc...
(6) No pasting more than 6 lines of code in the channel. Use websites like www.nomorepasting.com or the forum to show us your code.
(7) No illegal scripts or code. We won't be helping with anything related to flooding, trojans etc.
(8) No spamming/advertising, this includes ICQ numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, websites, and so on..
(9) There is this well known concept known as the sentence, please use it. We don't want one word per line because it's just annoying.
We expect you to have read the rules if you join the channel or read the rules upon joining the channel. The rules are enforced more strictly in the channel to maintain order and run a help channel successfully.
Forum Rules
The forum rules are as follows:
(1) We do not permit spam/advertising.
(2) Abuse will not be tolerated.
(3) We have the right to remove/edit topics and posts we find inappropriate.
(4) This forum is not a place for you to place links to harmful content, eg viruses or trojans. You will be banned permanently if we find this to be the case.
(5) We will not help with the editing/changing of copyrighted code.
(6) Our staff will not respond to questions sent to them via email since that is what this forum is for. You are welcome to private message the helper if they have permitted you to do so, otherwise please use the forum to post your question (besides you would usually get a faster response posting it on the forum).
